Always up for a challenge and ready to sway away from the expected, Nick Gale was full of creative ideas when asked to transform an existing Stingray Shwinn bicycle, yes BICYCLE, for SONY to use as a platform to launch their new product, the SK8, a customisable i pod docking station.
Nick set about customising the bike with his team in just 10 days and with some interesting fabrication. A sissy bar, battery box and it's body, the middle section of the frame and by altering the handlebars to go through the SK8 box. An invertor was placed iside the SK8 box to run off a 12V battery.
The frame was custom painted with a Candy apple red and the spokes a rich gold, a beautiful combination that enriched the bicycle.
